A Breakroom Renovation That Sparked a Growing Partnership with Meriwest

What started as a small interior renovation quickly became the catalyst of a larger partnership between Toeniskoetter Construction and Meriwest Credit Union.

Meriwest Credit Union initially approached Toeniskoetter Construction to modernize the employee breakroom at its headquarters. The existing space had become outdated and no longer reflected the organization’s commitment to providing a comfortable, welcoming environment for its staff. The goal was clear: create a refreshed space that felt modern, functional, and inviting for employees who use it every day.

Over a six week construction period, Toeniskoetter Construction completed the 1,100 square foot renovation. The scope included new flooring, fresh paint, updated ceiling tiles, custom millwork, upgraded plumbing fixtures, and a new tile backsplash. Improved counter space along the exterior windows helped brighten the room and created a more practical layout for daily use.

The project was shaped by close collaboration with the Meriwest team. Project Manager Adam Toeniskoetter and Superintendent Justin Svoboda, Darci Sosebee Meriwest Director of Executive Operations helped guide the design direction, working alongside Toeniskoetter to select finishes, colors, and materials that would bring the updated vision to life. Meriwest AVP Facilities Services Bruce Richter provided critical input to ensure the space remained durable and practical for employees.

“The Toeniskoetter team was fantastic to work with,” said Darci Sosebee of Meriwest Credit Union. “They really listened to what we were looking for and helped turn our ideas into a space that feels fresh, modern, and welcoming for the employees.”

Project Manager Adam Toeniskoetter credits the strong partnership with the client for the project’s success. “Projects like this work best when there is open communication and trust between the client and the construction team,” Adam said. “Our role is to understand how the space will be used and make sure the final result truly supports the people who rely on it.”

CEO Megan Toeniskoetter emphasized that this project reflects a broader philosophy behind the firm’s work. “We approach every project as an opportunity to build trust,” she said. “When you deliver quality, stay aligned with your client, and execute with intention, you’re not just completing a project, you’re building a relationship that extends well beyond it.”

The upgraded breakroom now serves as a comfortable, updated and modern gathering space where employees can step away, recharge, and connect during the workday. More importantly, the success of the project built confidence and trust between the two teams. What began as a single breakroom renovation has since grown into additional projects with Meriwest, including work at their headquarters and branch locations.

For Toeniskoetter Construction, the project reflects what strong client relationships led by our expert team can achieve. By focusing on collaboration, attention to detail, and aligning with budget priorities, even a modest renovation can become the foundation for a lasting client relationship.
