Toeniskoetter employees participated in the Stroke Awareness Foundation’s Fight Stroke Walk.  We are proud to support this annual event, which raises money to fight stroke through public education and awareness efforts. One of the ways in which the Stroke Awareness Foundation does this is through their free app, which identifies signs of stroke, locates the closest stroke center, and can call 9-1-1 and alert emergency contacts. We encourage you to download the app to your smartphone today.

The Stroke Awareness Foundation was founded by Pat Dando, Chuck Toeniskoetter, and Chuck Hoffman in 2002. One of their goals has been to help local hospitals become Certified Stroke Centers and to change policy to redirect emergency medical transportation in Santa Clara County so that stroke victims are taken directly to a Certified Stroke Center. There are now 9 Primary Stroke Centers and 3 Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Santa Clara County.
